Das Modell ist für Mies immer das eigentliche und unerläßliche Medium zur Entwicklung
und Vermittlung von Funktion, Konstruktion und Raumidee gewesen.
Das Modell, das im Januar 1953 in Mannheim eintrifft, sprengt ebenso von der Idee her
wie von seiner Größe den Wettbewerb.

For Mies the model was always the real and indispensable medium for developing
and communicating function, structure and the spatial idea. In regard to concept and size,
the model which arrived in Mannheim in January,
1953, went far beyond the scope of the competition.
